Doc Ayomide’s 40th Orbit Around the Sun

When I turned 20, a dear friend, Dr. Olamiju, said to me: “Your 20s are for discovering what you want for your life. In your 30s, you put more meaning into those discoveries. Finally, at 40, you fully live that life in a well-defined way.” — Mo!

Today’s show is with my very good friend — Doc Ayomide, who is now a co-host on the show. I’m sure you have gotten used to hearing his voice and having him around. As he needs no further introduction, let’s get right into this week’s podcast, yaaayyy!

I’ll like to say firstly, happy birthday in arrears to Ayomide! He clocked 40 a few weeks ago, and I sure do tease him a lot about him being a rube. In this episode, Ayomide shared his perspectives on birthdays and the changes in perspectives that turning a new decade can bring.

Ayomide’s barber once said to him, “there’s no perfect haircut; all we do as humans, in general, is create an illusion of a perfect haircut.” This principle, we both agreed, can be linked to many of life’s situations, e.g., parenting, relationships, and friendships. Ayomide reminded us of how our memories as humans are in snapshots and clips, and we do not remember…
