I looked at the DNA ancestry report in tears, and it does something for you to realize that you are not what people defined you as. My definition did not start with the US; it did not start with slavery. It did not start with Jim Crow or any of these things. So, I had to reach beyond that to where it started; it started on the continent of Africa.
