“Just do it. You are going to have doubts, you are going to second guess yourself, you are going to have trust issues. Those things will be there but with it all in spite of those things still go ahead and do it.” — Olabimpe Shode, Owner, Beam’s Kiddies.

The year 2021 felt like a continuation of the roller coaster ride that was 2020. As if the devastation caused by COVID-19 wasn’t enough, a new variant, Omicron, has been announced. Who knows what else we have coming? Optimus Prime Z?

Bimpe, my long-time friend of more than two decades, and I talked about how the year 2021 has gone, from the controversies surrounding the COVID-19 vaccine to the virus itself, the recent travel ban on African countries, the struggles we’ve had as Christians in these times, and Bimpe’s new business in Nigeria.

Amid the beautiful mess that was 2021, my dear friend launched a business in Nigeria from Minnesota, USA. She’s that daring! My Igbo-Yoruba friend has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, but it’s not just about passion. She got proper training and established a proper structure to ensure that things are properly monitored and run smoothly even when she is not present.
