Thank you for your response. And I promise not to chew you up, LOL. Your analysis of the broad issues plaguing my country is quite spot on. Yes, discovering oil when we first did many years ago at Oloibiri has proven more to be a curse than something fruitious. And I probably would have not been wiser about these issues had I not stepped away from the confusion by moving away almost a decade ago. Indeed being out of Nigeria has provided me with a more detailed way of understanding my country, comparing it with other countries, and seeing how we, the youths, can make a difference.

Yes, we are a multi-ethnic group but so is Singapore which was changed from its axis as a third-world country to a global powerhouse; a feat that was credited to Lee Kuan Yew. Also, there are other countries with natural resources too and whose citizens have better welfare and enjoy the spoils of their labor (to a degree), like Canada, China, Australia, and Saudi Arabia.

I guess what I am trying to say is that the ability to change our country lies in our hands as Nigerian youths. This is what I strongly believe in and was hoping to convey in my texts.
