I have realized that you can’t keep hiding your light or diminishing your strengths. You must learn how to use it because there is just the power in letting it shine. What comes to you so effortlessly might be something someone else is trying to get. — Mo!

Doc Ayomide and I started this episode by sharing our highlights for the week, which later became the foundation of the episode. His was a friend getting a good job she had been hoping for. Mine was raising support for my friend when she was about to go through surgery alone — I found her a doctor who was on call, a friend who waited after the surgery, and others who cooked and cared for her. And I got to exercise my strength of connecting people.

Connecting people means reaching out to some for the sake of others who may be unable to because of circumstances or even their personalities, like my introvert friend working remotely while studying. In reaching out, I ask myself two questions:

  • First, how much of this request is reeking so much of me?
  • Is this something the person I’m asking for would want me to…
