From what I see on TV shows, being a priest is not the easiest job. You are teaching in the church, performing your administrative duties, attending to the community’s needs, offering counsels, doing missions, etc. So I was glad to have a sit down with a catholic priest finally, and I got a lot of my questions answered.

My guest on this show is a catholic priest from Aba, Nigeria. Fr James Anyaegbu had always wanted to become a priest right from when he was 6. He grew up with parents who took the Catholic faith religiously. They had a tradition of always praying before going to bed and rarely missed mass.

Fr. James watched the priest perform mass and found it so fascinating that he began to practice a mock mass in the house, wrapping himself in his mother’s wrapper — to the chagrin of every Nigerian mom out there. But, despite his parents’ reservations, his determination and passion for the ministry kept him going. When he was 11 years old, he entered the Seminary and has had no regrets. Since then, he has attended two more seminaries.
